Staying On Track During the Holiday Season

The holiday season is a time for joy and celebration, but it can also be a period of stress and deviation from our regular routines.

Top Chiropractic will be closed from 2pm on the 23rd of December until the 2nd of January at 12:00pm.

While we all take a short break, it's essential to stay mindful of your care plan. Here's a guide to help you stay on track and enjoy a healthy holiday season!

Lifestyle Advice

The holidays can bring both joy and stress. Prioritize self-care by maintaining a balanced lifestyle. Make time for activities that bring you joy and relaxation, ensuring a positive impact on your overall well-being.

Taking Care of Your Neck

  • Be Neck Conscious: Avoid sudden movements and maintain a relaxed neck position. Be mindful of your posture to prevent unnecessary strain.
  • Sleep Position: Optimal sleeping positions include on your back or side, avoiding sleeping on your stomach. Use an appropriately sized pillow to support the space between your shoulder and neck.

Taking Care of Your Nervous System

  • Regular Sleep/Wake Times: Maintain consistent sleep and wake times to align with your body's natural rhythms. Pay attention to daylight and darkness to regulate your body's internal clock.
  • Hydration: Consume 2.6 liters of water between 2 hours post-waking and 2 hours before bed. Stay hydrated by drinking regularly throughout the day.
  • Regular Exercise: Combat holiday sedentary habits by incorporating regular walks with family and friends into your routine. Exercise contributes to overall health and creates lasting memories.
  • Ions and Electrolytes: Counteract deviations from your regular diet by consuming a large glass of filtered water with a slice of lime/lemon and Himalayan Sea salt a few hours before bed.
